Dalmahoy, near Edinburgh, has a setup that represents everything that is good about Scottish golf, highlighted by the fact it hosted Team Europe's first Solheim Cup win.

With two challenging and exciting courses to play, both provide a stern test and are as enjoyable as any top championship course you will find.

The East course is generally regarded as the big brother of the two as it has hosted the more prestigious tournaments.

Designed by James Braid, his traditional deep bunkers and large, undulating greens are enough to keep you busy. While it may be more forgiving off the tee, it is a brute from the championship pegs, if you fancy a real test.

Aptly nicknamed 'The Beast', the East course has wide fairways and receptive greens, so there are chances to score.
