Innovative equipment brand Golphin is continuing its award-winning work for junior golf with two exciting announcements ahead of the 2017 season.
The Irvine-based company has unveiled a new set of clubs designed for children who are ready to make the step up from the brand's hugely successful entry-level range. In addition, Golphin is rolling out a brand new resource called 'Pathway To The Fairways' to provide clubs and coaches with a high quality but simple to follow learning curriculum for nurturing the next generation.
As our business continues to grow, so too does our commitment to increasing the number of juniors playing golf and, just as importantly, providing them with the best possible equipment and tools to get the most out of the game, said founder Calum McPherson.
The new club range, GFK+, will be officially launched at the Scottish Golf Show in March and takes Golphin's approach to junior golf equipment to the next level. The irons are particularly impressive. Their sole plate has been made with a radial profile that helps to deliver a 'universal lie angle' and increases bounce. This results in less resistance at impact and higher club head speed all resulting in higher levels of performance.
COMMITMENT
GFK+ clubs have been tested independently against three other leading junior brands using launch monitors, added McPherson. We were delighted to see our clubs outperformed the rest.
Golphin's 'Pathway To The Fairway' teaching resource, meanwhile, is the next stage of Golphin's commitment to educating the next generation of golfers. A comprehensive guide to junior development, it is designed to prepare clubs for welcoming youngsters into the fold. One of our key objectives is to get more kids into the game, said McPherson. Our schools project was the first stage in doing that and this resource is the next step. It is very much a holistic solution to get clubs, schools and families all working together.
Meanwhile, McPherson also added that the Golphin Junior Flag Tour will return in 2017, again culminatoing with the Race To Turnberry grand final at the Ayrshire Open Championship venue. Arnold Clark are very enthusiastic about Golphin's schools project and are a main sponsor of this exciting initiative.
