Old kid back on the block: John Letters made its return to the Open Championship at Royal St George’s last week
With many of the world’s top brand’s vying for attention on the driving range of Royal St George’s during the Open Championship, bunkered got the chance to visit the John Letters tour truck for a sneak preview of what the resurgent brand has in store over the next few months.
The first thing to peak our attention was the brand new Master Model irons, which have a new black colouration for 2011 and look as sleek as ever.
We also noted the soon-to-be-released all-black Beta Ti driver, which has a slightly more open position at address and minimalistic looks to attract the better player.
Fitting with the classic style of the range, John Letters is also offering the Tour Black wedges, which share their tour preferred teardrop shape with wedge models you may be more familiar with.
As with the Master Model iron last year, making its return at this year’s Open Championship was the Golden Goose putter, which proved to be very popular on the Royal St George’s practice putting green. It will be available in three models in both oil can and black finishes.
Look out for more information on John Letters’ 2011 products in a future issue of your favourite golf mag.
