Try the ‘Every Club’ drill

everyclubdrill

To get the best feel for what club to use in different situations you need to make sure you practice with different clubs.

Set up with a cane or club indicating ball position as you must keep the ball position constant. Play each ball with a different club to the same target.

Start with the 3-iron, then 4-iron before finishing with your most lofted club.

This drill helps improve visualisation as it helps show the relationship between the amounts of carry and roll each club has. The ultimate goal is to get every shot within a club length. You can even try it with your hybrid and driver! This is a great drill for all abilities.

Remember, with chipping, weight should favour the front foot at set-up and impact. The ball position remains constant, opposite the inside of your left heel.
