• Cleveland Golf announces new RTX-3 wedges

Cleveland Golf has sold more than 10million wedges globally since it started working on the first RTX range ten years ago and these new designs look set to continue that impressive sales trend.
The RTX-3 Blade has been created with versatility at its heart with the aim of ‘maximising all-round wedge performance’.

The new models have been built around three new technologies. The first of those is the new Feel Balancing Technology. It shifts the centre of gravity closer to the middle of the wedge face, improving the feel and giving more stability from further out.
That change in performance is also down to what Cleveland is calling ‘micro-activity’ inside the hosel, which has been shortened to allow for nine grams of weight to be moved in the head to increase control around the greens.
‘After spending more than two years developing these wedges, Cleveland Golf is very proud with the finished product.’
The next new technology introduced is the new V Sole Grinds. Visible in a V-shape, they have more leading edge bounce to help get the clubhead through the turf faster with less resistance at impact. This ultimately results in a crisper feel with more spin.

The last of the new technologies is the Rotex face, now in its third generation. Designed to give more consistency, Cleveland has included new Tour Zip grooves with a deeper narrower U-shape to give better contact between the grooves and the ball. The micro milling pattern on the face increases friction on the face, while its laser milling roughens the face to give maximum spin.
