Leica sign Lee Slattery as ambassador

Two-time European Tour winner Lee Slattery has become the first professional golfer to be a global ambassador for Leica Sport Optics.

The 37-year-old will endorse the company’s high-end laser rangefinders – the Pinmaster II and Pinmaster II Pro – after meeting with Leica product manager for golf, Julian Burczyk, at the recent BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

“I met Lee last year during the Porsche European Open Pro-Am and was impressed by his game, personality, attitude and attention to detail,” said Burczyk. “As a premium brand, these fundamental qualities appeal to us greatly. Leica constantly strives for excellence in design and performance, so the partnership with Lee is the perfect fit for us.”

As well as using the Leica Pinmaster II Pro rangefinder on the course, Slattery will also record his activities on the European Tour with a Leica Q digital camera and will share images on Leica’s social media channels, giving the public a great insight into life on tour.
