Course Description

Traigh golf course is located in one of the most scenic areas of the Highlands and boasts marvellous views of the islands of Eigg, Rum and the Cuillins of Skye. The word Traigh means 'beach' in Gaelic and the course borders a truly magnificent sandy beach - a photographer's dream. It is the most Westerly golf course on the British mainland, based on a line of grassy hills, which rise some seventy feet and have the springy turf of a true links.

Redesigned in 1993 by the late John Salvesen, the well-respected Scottish golf architect, Traigh is a subtle challenge that rewards accurate shotmaking. Good players are made to work for their scores, and yet high handicappers are given every chance. In short, Traigh offers something for everyone.

As an American visitor wrote 'When I die I hope heaven is like Traigh. You would never get bored. Each change in wind and weather makes this nine hole course a new challenge'.
