Located on the Chanonry Peninsula in the "Black Isle" our Scottish links golf course enjoys breathtaking views over the Moray Firth, very close to the City of Inverness. Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links is the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World (1793). The course was re-designed by the five time Open Champion James Braid in 1932.
Playing on one of the finest links golf courses in Scotland is a must for your golfing calendar, especially as we are so close to other distinguished links in the area, such as Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart, Brora and Nairn.
The course has received accolades such as "a gem of a course by the sea", "perhaps the best jewel in the highland golfing crown" and "a unique course with special character to be found nowhere else". The course is open every day of the year and we welcome golfers from all parts of the globe to play at this fantastic links course.
The greens are not just fast but also deceptive, with tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course - the trademark of the all-time master of bunkering, James Braid. Currently measuring 6085 yards in length this is a course which has played host to a number national championships and will continue to do so for the years ahead and this will include the 2018 Scottish Boys Under 16's Open Amateur Championship (10-12 July 2018). Whilst here you can play from the YELLOW (Shorter), WHITE (Club Competition Tees) or BLACK (Championship) tees – the RED tees are for the Ladies to play from. The White tees for the Gents will provide a really good experience as we play most of our club competitions from these sets of tees but the choice is your own to make on the day. There is no problem if you wish to play from the Black Tees but it will make it slightly more difficult for the higher handicapper. Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club recently attended the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards which were held down at the Turnberry Resort at the end of 2017 and we were presented (as voted for by the public) with Scotland’s Best Golfing Experience (value for money) Award. We have also only recently won an additional award from the Luxury Travel Guide Lifestyle Awards where we have been honoured with the accolade of Golf Club of the Year for Scotland for 2018. We can promise any golfing party visiting here this season and indeed in the future the best golfing experience as the staff who work with me are fantastic at what they do. They go that extra step to ensure that members and visitors who come here, enjoy their day as much as possible and that their visit here is a memorable one.
