British golf trolley manufacturer Stewart Golf recently announced a new sponsorship with the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows for 2018. Stewart Golf has provided each pilot with a hand built trolley, which will be used during the team's many charity golf events.
In March, members of the Stewart Golf team made the journey to RAF Scampton, home of the Red Arrows, to present the pilots with two red carbon fibre X9 Follow trolleys from the Signature Range and nine R1-S Push trolleys in the white and red colour combination. While at the base, Stewart Golf were allowed full behind the scenes access and were even allowed to sit in on training flight briefings and critical analysis sessions. All of the current Red Arrows pilots are keen golfers who take part in charity events throughout the year. Two of the most enthusiastic golfers are Flight Lieutenant Mike Bowden (Red 9) and Flight Lieutenant Matt Masters (Red 8). As a result, they have taken responsibility of the two flagship Stewart Golf X9 Follow machines.
Flt Lt Bowden commented: "Stewart were in contact – it's a British manufacturing company, of which we're huge supporters – and as soon as we found out the X9 Follow was available in red we both agreed it would look fantastic parked in front of a jet."
