'More recognition for clubs' as Tait fronts exciting new golf podcast

The golf pundit will be joined by a different guest each week on the show

A brand new Scottish Golf Radio Show has been launched and is now available to download in a podcast form every Tuesday lunchtime.

Anchored by popular golf pundit Alan Tait, who is also the director of golf at Dalmahoy Marriott Hotel &Country Club, the weekly podcast will cover all areas of the game in Scotland, from the club scene to the world’s top professional tour events. It will also feature news from the nation’s amateur championships to interviews with some of the game’s great characters.

Tait will also be joined in the studio by a special guest on each show, while the programme will also visit clubs up and down the country to get an insight into some of the great work taking place at a local level.

Listeners will also have the chance to win weekly prizes, with clubs invited to put themselves forward to be featured on the show.

“I’m really looking forward to hosting the Scottish Golf Radio Show and giving golf fans something to tune into on a weekly basis,” said Tait. “There are so many great things happening in the game and so much to talk about that we felt there was a huge gap in the market to air a radio show.”

Ross Duncan, Scottish Golf’s marketing and commercial director, added: “We knew how popular the Golf Show was previously when it was aired on BBC Scotland and we didn’t want golf fans going without it, so we decided it would be a great platform for us to get involved with.

“With 220,000 club members in Scotland, we know there’s a big audience for golf out there. The podcast will give golfers the opportunity to take their clubhouse debates onto the show and interact with Alan and his guests, while giving exposure to the work in clubs that might not often get the recognition they deserve.”
