Elaine Moffat enjoyed the perfect introduction to the senior circuit as she clinched the Scottish Senior Women's Open Championship at Prestwick St Nicholas.
The St Regulus Ladies Golf Club member, who turned 50 not long before the event got underway, was fifth after the strokeplay rounds and progressed through the matchplay stages to face Sheena Wood of Aberdeen Ladies Golf Club in the final, which she won by two holes.
"It's absolutely fantastic to walk away a winner," said Moffat, who won the Scottish Women's Championship 20 years ago. I've felt that my putting has been particularly strong and I'm happy to have played against some fantastic golfers.
"I've really enjoyed the competition as a chance to meet up with so many old friends and even make some new ones. It means a lot to me as golf in Scotland has always been a huge part of my life."
