Maiden victory for Hill

Calum Hill’s brilliant final round of 64 was enough to win his maiden Challenge Tour title by one shot.

The 23-year-old started the day four shots off the lead at the Galgorm Resort and Spa NI Open in only his fifth Challenge Tour start, but five birdies on the back nine gave him a great chance of victory with a 19-under-par total.

And when fellow Scot Scott Henry, who was the overnight leader, dropped four shots over the last three holes, it handed Hill the title.

"I can't believe it," he beamed. "On the stretch I was hitting a few great shots and was holing a few great putts, but I thought it would be for second or third place – not for victory."
