Irvine club celebrates 2014 success

Irvine Bogside has enjoyed a fantastic year with its members enjoying success in high-ranking events throughout 2014.

Club member John Shanks won the Ayrshire Order of Merit as he finished well ahead of the rest of the field to take home the Doc Thom Award.

Meanwhile junior member Jack Thomas experienced his most successful year to date as he claimed four of the region’s biggest titles. Thomas won the Ayrshire Boys Matchplay, the Ayrshire Boys Championship, the Ayrshire Junior Order of Merit, and the Ayrshire Junior Champion of Champions event and in the process listed himself as one of the youngsters to watch in the future.

Irvine Bogside also enjoyed a great year in team competitions, with its men’s scratch team winning the Ayrshire Scratch Summer League, and its junior team winning the Ayrshire Boys Team Championship and the Ayrshire Team Matchplay.
