Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club has announced that the construction of its new on-site facilities is to be completed at the start of spring 2020.
The construction works, which include the creation of a new pro shop, swing studio, office and meeting room facilities, will cost the club around £250,000.
The club has invested significantly over the past couple of years, installing a new irrigation system last year, as it seeks to meet demand and improve the experience of the golf club for members and visitors.
“As a club we are making every effort possible to ensure this new facility is delivered on time, so that the members and visitors who come to the club can start enjoying a wonderful new facility here at the golf course sooner rather than later,” said club secretary, Mike MacDonald.
“The course is open all year round so to have this new additional structure in place will be a fantastic addition for the club going forward.”
MacDonald believes that investing in a new pro shop on-site will help take the club to the next level.
“The new shop will undoubtedly help our club professional, Rob Douglas, to stock the best golf clothing, equipment and accessories, not to mention being able to provide a custom fitting service and indoor lesson facility for both members and non-members with a new swing studio.
“All of our staff take great pride in the quality of service they provide for members and visitors to the links whilst ensuring the that they receive the best golfing experience possible.”
The club, who are the 15th oldest golf club in the world on record, are experiencing a buoyant period despite the difficult financial times for golf clubs across the country, seeing a 20% increase on visitor numbers in 2019.
