Cawder Golf Club has won this year’s Inter Cities Cup, contested annually by the winners of the Edinburgh Golf League and the winners of the Boundary Bell, a play-off match between the champions of the Donald Cameron League and the Brand Putter League in Glasgow.
Cawder, captained by Ryan Smith and represented by Andy Fairbairn, Kevin Scott, Alan Bennett and Craig Chalmers, as well as Graeme Cross, Martin Lamb, Gordon Miller and Stuart Mason - all of whom are scratch golfers - won the title for the third year on the spin.
They held off Turnhouse to win 5-4 at Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society. Impressively, both clubs were undefeated in their respective league matches this year en route to the final.
