Entires have opened for next year’s Inverness Four-Day Open, taking place in the week commencing July 2, 2018 – and Russell Knox is urging people to get involved. The popular event will see golfers play two rounds of strokeplay qualifying over the acclaimed James Braid course before the top 16 advance to battle it out in a straight matchplay knock-out. The most recent edition of the competition carried a total prize fund of more than £4,500 in golf vouchers. Knox, a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, learned his trade at Inverness and won the Four-Day Open twice before he turned professional. “The Four-Day Open is always one of the highlights of the north golf calendar and I have many happy memories of it, winning the title in 2004 to 2006,” said the current Scottish No.1.
