A STUNNING round of 66 helped Ewen Farquhar claim the Carnoustie Junior Open.

The St Andrews New Golf Club member shot a two-under par round the Burnside course to beat India’s Zara Anand by a single shot.

Farquhar overcame two early bogeys, roaring back with three twos.

Rory Ferguson was the leading home player with a level par 68, while Arisha Virik of Kenilworth Golf Club had a nett 60 to win the handicap event.

As well as the Burnside course, players also had the chance to play on the Buddon or Nestie courses depending on their ability or handicap.

Six-year-old Sebastian Brown played the five-hole Nestie Course in just 18 shots.
