Digital revolution at home of golf

St Andrews Links recently became the first golf complex in the UK to implement the revolutionary range solution

St Andrews Links recently became the first golf complex in the UK to implement the revolutionary range solution from TrackMan.

TrackMan Range is a digital system which allows range goers to track their shots via a free app on their tablets or phones. The app offers features for practice and gaming purposes and can be played alone or in groups.

With the system in place, players at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy can now enjoy the same technology used by the best players in the world as, using the app, players can review and analyse their shots’ key parameters including Ball Speed, Launch Angle, Launch Direction, Height, Carry, Total, Side and From Pin.

In addition to gathering performance data on each shot, the TrackMan Range app also offers three fun games, which can be played alone or with friends. Games include Capture the Flag, Hit It, and Bulls-eye.

“We first installed TrackMan at the Golf Academy in 2005, one of the first in the UK to do so,” said St Andrews Links’ director of instruction Steve North. “Since then, we have worked closely with the team at TrackMan, integrating more of their world-class technology into the day to day operations at the Golf Academy.

“We were hugely excited to hear about the TrackMan Range system and are now delighted to be able to showcase it to the thousands of golfers visiting our facility each year.”
