There are plenty of prizes up for grabs
Junior golfers from across Scotland are being invited to enter the 2016 BuzzworksTroon Junior Open, which is set to take place just weeks before the world’s best players descend on the town for this year’s Open Championship.
An annual event played over 18 holes at TroonLochgreen, the competition is open to both boys and girls with this year’s winner getting the fantastic opportunity to meet a player at Royal Troon during the Open Championship.
The competition will take place on Sunday July 3, with boys and girls under the age of 18 that have a CONGU handicap eligible for entry up until the deadline of June 17. Prizes on the day will be awarded for both scratch and handicap winners
The main trophy is named after Tom Lehman, who was reigning Open champion when the event came to Troon in 1997.
For those just starting out there are a number of other fun events with prizes to be won, including the Drive to the Open Ayrshire Schools Street golf Final and the Tom Lehman Flag Competition, which will be held over TroonFullarton course, making this one of the biggest junior golfing events to be held in Scotland this year. In total there will be well over £1,000 worth of prizes to be won by junior golfers on the day across all of the events.
That’s not all, the day will be jam-packed with other activities for everyone including a Tiger Chip competition, putting competition, a barbecue provided by Buzzworks, and inflatable driving bays hosted by Lynx Golf.
On top of that, parents of all competitors will also receive a voucher offering a 50% discount on all food purchased at Buzzworks’ Troon venues Scott’s and Lido on the competition day.
