Established in 1921 and just a short drive from St Andrews, Thornton is home to a scenic and wooded parkland course renowned for the condition of its greens.

Indeed, ask anybody who has played it and one of the first things they will remark upon is the quality of the putting surfaces.

The course is bounded by the River Ore, which comes into play on the par-3 14th. Miss the green here at your peril!

The 14th sets up a grandstand finish and one of the trickiest closing stretches in this part of the country.

What Thornton lacks in length, it more than makes up for in charm and challenge. You will absolutely love it (and will leave itching to come back).
