Glenrothes Golf Course is a testing parkland layout which undoubtedly serves as one of Scotland's most enjoyable municipal courses. It is an 18-hole, 6406 yard par 71 course which occupies a prominent position on the high ground to the west of Glenrothes, taking full advantage of the glorious setting overlooking the Lomond Hills and Firth of Forth.

The course is hilly in parts, but players benefit from wide players which allow the longer hitters to be set loose off the tee. There are ample birdie opportunities on well-maintained greens, but a devilish burn that runs through the 11th, 12th, 13th and 18th holes also provides a challenging test.
