The lightweight feel really struck a chord with golfers and adidas have taken that to the next level with the adizero one, which weighs 10% less than the Tour version, at just 272g.
“We’re constantly looking to test the boundaries of engineering to design and develop equipment that helps golfers perform at their peak.” - Masun Denison, adidas Golf’s director of global product marketing for footwear
The design appears to follow a similar track to the adizero Tour, which was inspired by the work adidas has done in football boot design and development. adidas Golf also says these stylish golf shoes help to reduce fatigue
“When I first saw the adizero one, I couldn’t wait to get them on my feet,” said Jason Day. “With the low profile design, I can really feel the ground beneath my feet and the power generated from my swing is definitely noticeable. I’m excited to wear these on tour.”
Normally a golf shoe is created from several layers but the adizero one has been constructed from a single ultra-light sprintskin+ fused upper, to give an extremely snug and comfortable fit. The brand has also increased stability in the adizero one by reducing the number of spikes on the sole by three, but repositioning them to ensure you remain steady throughout your swing.
Masun Denison, adidas Golf’s director of global product marketing for footwear, added: “We’re constantly looking to test the boundaries of engineering to design and develop equipment that helps golfers perform at their peak. adizero one is a perfect example of our relentless pursuit of innovation to consistently create the best performing footwear in golf.”
These shoes will be available from January 23, and you’ll be able to buy them in one of four different colours at the launch date, with another colour to be added on May 1 this year. The adizero one has an RRP of £129.99.
