Palacerigg is a municipal course designed in 1970s by the eminent English golfer Henry Cotton. The course is located ten miles north east of Glasgow on the outskirts of Cumbernauld and is located within Palacerigg Country Park.
As well as the golf course, the public park offers such attractions as Scottish and European wildlife, craft centre nature trails, millennium longhouses, visitors centre and children's play area.
The signature hole would be the seventh, aptly named 'Lang Whang', a par five of 540-yards. The tee shot must be perfect as a burn comes into play just about the landing area of the average drive. Also, miss the fairway and you could end up in the duck pond on the left or a copse of trees on the right.
