Situated on the south-west coast of Scotland, overlooking the North Channel to Ireland, Portpatrick is home to two superb courses that enjoy a spectacular coastal setting.
A perfect blend of rolling moorland and seaside heath, both the 18-hole Dunskey course and the nine-hole Dinvin course sit around 150 feet above sea level, affording spectacular views and challenges aplenty.
Nowhere are these two features more apparent than on the signature hole of the Dunskey course, the par-4 13th. 'Sandeel', as it is called, is quite short but tricky nonetheless, and it offers stunning views of Ireland, Kintyre, the Isle of Man, and, on a clear day, Cumbria. The path to the left of the hole, meanwhile, is the first stage of the Southern Upland Way.
