Famous for its wildlife and glorious views of the Kirk Loch, Lochmaben Golf Course is one of the most attractive parkland layouts to play in Dumfries & Galloway. Located around four miles from the M74, Lochmaben is a must-visit venue all year round, with the course kept in pristine shape to the excellent drainage work from green staff.
Lochmaben was originally laid out by the renowned architect James Braid in 1926 as a nine-hole course, and it is now a popular 18-hole venue that plays just under 6,000 yards. There are only two par-5s on the card, while the signature hole is the stunning par-3 8th, measuring 120-yards. The cleverly-designed hole is played over a loch towards onto a hillside green, and is well worth the visit alone.
