Golf Courses in Clackmannanshire

Although the smallest region in Scotland, Clackmannanshire is by no means not a perfect location for golfers. There are seven golf clubs on offer in Clackmannanshire and on nearly all the courses you will find yourself playing in the shadow of the impressive Wallace Monument, an impressive historical site in the area.

Alloa Golf Course is possibly the best course on offer in Clackmannanshire. An original James Braid design laid out in 1936, the course has little changed over the intervening years. Situated amongst 150 acres of rolling parkland beneath the Ochil Hills, this 6,200 yard, par 71 championship course will challenge the best golfers and offer a lot of fun to the average player.

Alva Golf course is also well worth playing, at just nine holes it’s easy to fit this course into your schedule. The course holds many natural hazards, small greens, difficult lines and sloping fairways; Alva Golf Course is nothing if not a challenge.

Clackmannanshire is only a short journey from Stirling, and the region has much on offer other than golf - from Castle Campbell in Dollar, to the Alloa Tower and the Gartmorn Dam Country Park and Nature Reserve, there are plenty of sites well worth exploring in the area if you want to slot some historic sites and beautiful scenery in between some excellent rounds of golf.
