Lauder Golf Course consists of nine holes measuring 6, 049-yards with a par of 72. Willie Park Jnr first laid it out in 1896. He holds the professional record for Lauder of 70, which he set in 1905. Craig Lumsden holds the amateur record with a 66 set in 1996.
The course lies on a gently sloping (apart from the second which is quite steep) hillside. It provides wonderful views of Lauder and Lauderdale stretching from Soutra Hill in the north to the Eildon Hills in the south. The signature holes are 'The Wood' a dogleg par four played round the corner of a wood which is itself out of bounds and 'The Quarry', a 150-yard par three played over several old quarry holes into a bowl shaped green.
