Just half a mile from the ferry terminal on the Isle of Gigha, there is no excuse for not heading straight to this picturesque nine-holer to stretch the legs.
At 2,571 yards, with a par of 33, Gigha is an enjoyable yet testing short parkland track, where the main defence is its punishing rough.
Golf has been played on Gigha since the late 1800s, at a course near Leim at the south of the island, but that closed in 1925. It was 60 years before two keen local golfers, Alastair Brown and John Wright, designed the course which was first situatied at Tarbert Farm, in the north of the island, before it moved to its current location in 1988.
From just £15 for a day ticket, Gigha is wonderful value for money.
