Cowal overlooks the Firth of Clyde in the Cowal Peninsula in the town of Dunoon.
Driving off from the first tee beside the clubhouse there is a gradual incline to the green, but from there you can enjoy magnificent views down the Firth of Clyde to the Isles of Bute and Arran, and even out to the Ayrshire coast at Turnberry.
The fifth is an excellent par three, while the sixth and seventh are some of the nicest holes around this part, all boasting well cared for putting surfaces.
Overall, Cowal can best be described as a short, tricky course, but a solid test nonetheless and there will always be a friendly atmosphere to the club.
