Nestled within historic Stirling, the golf club lies on a tilted slab of ancient volcanic lava in the shadows of the town's famous castle. A favoured hunting ground of Scottish monarchs, the land has been known for centuries as 'The Kings Park'. And golfing royalty has played its part here, too, with Tom Morris Jr appointed the club's first professional in 1873.

The result is one of the more visually-appealing layouts in the area. Redesigned by Henry Cotton in 1966, the well-manicured greens are a highlight, but this course is not a pretty pushover. The 516 yard par-5 18th will test the best of them, especially when missing the fairway on the wrong side of the dog leg.

With a history dating back to the mid-19th century, a top-tier feel and a great level of challenge, this course really does have something for everyone.
