On the island of Millport is a stunning 18-hole course, that enjoys wonderful views of the west coast of Scotland, with Ailsa Craig to the south and the Isle of Bute and the Isle of Arran visible on a clear day.
Although it's beside the water, Millport plays more like a heathland course, with plenty of gorse bushes coming into play on this layout.
It's certainly a course where strategy is dictated by the weather of the day, with plenty short par-4s that have potential to play much longer than their yardage on the card.
One hole that will live long in the memory is the par-3, 12th. A short hole that plays down a steep cliff, there really is no margin for error here. If you can't control your ball flight on this hole, it's easy to ruin a good score.
