Troon Links at Darley is a par 72 heathland links course measuring just over 6, 300 yards and is renowned for being one of Scotland's most challenging golf courses.
Tight, undulating links-like fairways are bordered on both sides with unforgiving heather and swathes of craggy gorse, so if you want to find the fairway anywhere, then it's here.
The par-4 fifth hole requires an accurate carry of some 180-yards from the tee to establish an ideal or more playable approach to the green, while the aptly numbered 13th, a par-4, demands a good strategy to negotiate the burn whilst remaining within the confines of the course.
It's a traditional course, but recent changes have made it even better and no matter when its played, the greens are always in top condition.
