A demanding parkland course, which nestles in a loop formed by the River Esk overlooked by the historic village of Inveresk, Musselburgh Golf Course is a fantastic test of golf and quite unlike most other layouts in the golf-abundant region of East Lothian. A long, parkland layout, lined by a profusion of large, mature trees, the course stretches to over 6,700 yards from the back tees and is where good, accurate ball-striking will be richly rewarded. The course only opened for business in 1938, based upon a design thought-up by legendary golf course architect and five-time Open champion James Braid, but it has proven to be a popular alternative for golfers in a region dominated mainly by championship-standard links layouts.
