Founded in 1892, Mortonhall is the oldest course in the city of Edinburgh over which golf is still played and is rightly regarded as one of Scotland's best hidden gems.

A championship test of 6, 502 yards, the course boasts magnificent silver birch, fir, pine, sycamore and cherry trees, while it enjoys unrivalled views across Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth and the Pentland Hills.

Well known for boasting immaculate fairways and greens, this picturesque 18-hole course should be on your agenda if you are near the capital, it is simply, one of the best courses in the Lothians.

Only three miles from the west end of Princes Street, it's in an ideal location for visitors, and the fact it has hosted many top events, including the Scottish Amateur Stroke Play, is testament to why Mortonhall provides one of the best golf experiences in Scotland.
