Golf Courses in Perth and Kinross

Affectionately known as the ‘Big County’, Perthshire is both the historic and geographic heart of Scotland, extending from Strathmore in the east, to the Pass of Drumochter in the north, Rannoch Moor and Ben Lui in the west, and Aberfoyle in the south. With its varied landscape, it is full of magnificent courses which prove beyond doubt that the best of Scottish golf is by no means restricted to the coast.

Gleneagles is, without doubt, the big talking point for golf in this part of the country. It is home to three 18-hole courses: the PGA Centenary, which hosted the 2014 Ryder Cup and 2019 Solheim Cup, as well as the King’s and Queen’s courses. Any time spent here is time well spent.

Next door, you’ll find the excellent Auchterarder whilst the likes of Murrayshall, Alyth, and the Ferntower course at Crieff also come highly recommended. The same is true for Pitlochry, which is home to some of the most dramatic and spectacular views in Scottish golf. It was once said that this is “where golf, beauty and social life go hand in hand”. Who are we to disagree?

Dunkeld & Birnam, Aberfeldy, Craigie Hill, King James VI and the Bruce and Montgomery courses at Kinross Golf Club are just a few more of the excellent layouts that await golfers hoping to take a visit to this glorious part of Scotland.
