The first tow holes are on a slightly gradient followed by a par four which has a ditch running across the lower part of the fairway at 250-yards from the tee, challenging some of the longer hitters. The fifth, a par four, is played towards the clubhouse with spectacular views looking on to a small undulating green.

The sixth hole, named Forsyth's Folly, is a par three and is the signature hole of the course, with a deep ravine in the left hand side claiming many balls. The short eighth, being a blind shot from the men's medal tee, must be hit straight or will land in the farmer's field on the left. The ninth hole, Clark's Hame, is a 254-yard par four that can either make or break a good score depending on the drive.
