Barely 15 minutes from Aberdeen city centre this is a wonderful links that has played host to Scottish Seniors Championship among others. The Newmachar Hawkshill opened for play in 1990 and was designed by Dave Thomas, who has a distinct knack for creating tough, memorable holes. Water comes into play on several occasions and wayward balls are given new homes on a recurring basis, so be on your guard. Many travel writers have compared this course to Gleneagles King's and Blairgowrie's Rosemount which speaks volumes for Thomas' creation. |
