The UK's highest golf course - it sits at around 1,200 feet above sea level - Braemar is one of the finest golfing treats in the North-East of Scotland. Founded in 1902, it stared as a nine-hole layout before an additional nine holes were added later. Today, it unsurprisingly boasts magnificent scenery to enjoy from most holes, and it has a reputation for having what some of the finest greens in the region. Despite being relatively short, measuring under 5,000 yards, this hidden gem nestled in the foothills of the Cairngorm mountains it is an excellent test of golf for players of all standards with some varied and tricky holes to tackle along the way.
