Ballater is a historic venue if only for the golfing legends who have graced course. the A match was staged here in 1906 between icons James Braid and Harry Vardon to celebrate the construction of a brand new pavilion and the extension of the course.

This 18-hole undulating course is situated in one of the most picturesque parts of Upper Deeside with Balmoral Castle nearby. Several holes lie close to the River Dee and many a ball has found a watery grave. Ballater also provides a unique mix of parkland and heathland golf, promising a fulfilling golfing experience in a fine part of the world.
