Set on the shores of the River Forth to the north of Edinburgh, Silverknowes offers spectacular views over the estuary and into Fife, with Ben Lomond visible on a clear day.
The course itself plays every one of its 6,070 yards - in particular the 601-yard par-5 18th, as challenging a finishing hole as you will ever play that demands a straight drive followed by another long wood just to get within touching distance of the green.
The fairways are long, expansive and lined with some nasty rough to trap a wayward ball, but the beautiful nature of the course makes playing this a wonderful golfing experience for all abilities.
