Situated just 15 minutes' drive from the town of St Andrews, Scotscraig is a pleasant but testing course that's a mix of heathland and links.
Its inviting blend of heathland and links stems from the fact there are more trees than would normally be found on a links, although its relatively close proximity to the sea and rolling fairways ensures an enjoyable links experience. Scotscraig is known for its perfectly kept greens and all-round good condition thanks to a micro climate that lends itself to weather that is more dry than usual.
Although it plays like a links course, this isn't a layout that is close to the water, but you'll still find very firm greens and deep pot bunkers to contend with.
The course features three great par-5s, with the 16th proving a tricky test. You'll need to flight your ball from right-to-left here to leave yourself an approach to a well guarded green.
