Golf Dane very good

East Jutland region prospering as clubs join together as group

A TRIP to Denmark may not be high on the ‘to do’ list for many golfers out there but they are definitely missing a trick. That’s because the country is home to some of Europe’s most prestigious courses.

The Top3Golf group works with golf clubs and local hotels in the picturesque East Jutland region to create tailor-made packages that include three rounds of golf at top-quality courses.

Tranquil

The founding members of the group include Lübker Golf Resort, Lyngbygard Golf and Stensballegaard Golf, who have joined together to champion the region over the past two years, with each of the courses easily accessible from the vibrant Aarhus or tranquil Silkeborg areas.

Lübker Golf Resort is widely regarded as Denmark’s premier track but the stunning layout at Stensballegaard is not to be missed. Recently included in Rolex’s list of the World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses, it is a beautiful 27-hole complex with breathtaking views of Horsens Fjord.

The group has also been bolstered recently by the addition of Scandinavia’s largest golf complex, Silkeborg Ry Golfklub, who are excited by the prospect of being part of Top3Golf. Silkeborg Ry Golfklub is a regular in Denmark’s top ten courses thanks to its tree-lined fairways and colourful heather and the original 27-hole layout was recently joined by a second 27-hole set-up.

Objective

“We are extremely lucky to have four world-class venues located in a relatively small but beautiful part of Denmark,” said Mads Rugholm, manager at Silkeborg Ry Golfkulb. “Our objective is to showcase our fantastic scenery and wonderful courses so golfers from across Europe and beyond can discover golf in Denmark.”
