Crichton is a nine-hole course in Dumfries, directly adjacent to The Crichton, an 85-acre parkland estate.

Like many of the courses in this part of the Borders, it is both challenging and entertaining, with a whole host of variety.

From the elevated position of the opening few holes there are magnificent views of the town and surrounding countryside, but that also means a few shots you won't be used to - what's not to like?

The club was founded in 1884, but consistent renovations over the years means it has evolved into one of the finest courses in the region, while more recent improvements mean the course is in first-class condition.

At £25 per round, there's not much to complain about, while Crichton offers a £40 'all day play' ticket, if you're really in the mood.
