One of Scotland's best kept golfing secrets, Hirsel Golf Club in the Scottish Borders is the epitome of a hidden gem.

On the outskirts of Coldstream, players know they are in for a proper day out as you turn the final bend on the club's long driveway leading to the imposing clubhouse and stunning golf course.

A traditional parkland layout, Hirsel has The Cheviot Hills in its rearview mirrors, while the course itself features 18 vastly different holes, causing a whole host of shot making decisions.

At just over 6,000 yards, it provides a stern but fair test, with the finishing stretch boasting two par-5s. Natural water features are in play here, and the four par-3s present their own challenges.

Always in top condition, Hirsel should be well up the list of priorities if your anywhere near the border.
