Designed over 200 years ago, Colonsay Golf Course, on the Isle of Colonsay in Argyll, is hard to beat if you're after golf with a view.

At just £5 per round, you can't really go wrong, and it's a stunning walk along the coastline by the sandy Hebridean bays. It's a truly natural course and features no bunkers over the 4,700 yard layout.

You might think that makes it slightly easier and while the par-5s are on the shorter side, a few of the par-4s are there to catch you out. The 7th hole, in particular, has an out-of-bounds airstrip, while some fatal rough is waiting to steal your ball.

It's always quite, so there's no rush to get around, but on the third Saturday in August, it hosts the The Colonsay Open International All-Comers Golf Championship.
