Forfar Golf Club is home to the fourth oldest 18 hole golf course in the world, and it's a layout that has stood the test of time.

Although the course underwent a re-design in 1926 by James Braid, the majority of the holes are still in the same place as when Old Tom Morris set them out in 1871. Certainly a strong design team.

In more recent times, the club is the home of Stuart Wilson, Walker Cup captain, who grew up playing his golf over this parkland layout.

The course is an excellent parkland test, with a par of 69 making it tough to make a solid score. There's only one par-5 here, making birdies hard to come by.

Such is the quality of the course, it's often been home to national events.
