Like many great seaside courses, Arbroath Golf Links is laid out along a narrow strip of land with the holes going out and back along the terrain.

Originally designed by Old Tom Morris in 1877, the course was updated by Willie Fernie in 1907 and then re-designed by James Braid in 1931. Dunes that line the coast play a part in the holes here, making it a proper links golf experience.

Also, look out for the Dowie Burn, which comes into play on more than half of the holes here. Once you reach the green, you'll be greeted by excellent putting surfaces that are guarded by deep, penal bunkers.

Arbroath Golf Links is home to an excellent clubhouse which looks over the 18th green, where you can reflect on your day's golf.
